Meet Jenny
Monamos Terrace Apartments—Murrieta, California
Jenny and her family moved into Monamos Terrace Apartments in December of 2024, after spending four years in a Project T.O.U.C.H. (Together Our Unity Conquers Homelessness) shelter home. Jenny recalls those years as being difficult—she and her husband struggled to make ends meet while raising four children in an environment that never felt like a true home. Through the guidance of Project T.O.U.C.H. and their children’s school district, the family was connected to Monamos Terrace and given the opportunity to build a stable foundation for their future.
Life at Monamos has been transformative for the Orozco family. As a stay-at-home mom caring for her children, Jenny has found that the supportive community and secure living environment have made a profound difference in her day-to-day life. Her children are calmer and more at peace, and each now has their own bed—a welcome change from the overcrowded shelter. The entire family now feels grounded and comfortable in a safe, welcoming environment that truly feels like home.
Jenny and her family now enjoy the vibrant community and amenities offered at Monamas Terrace. They’ve built friendships with neighbors, including some they knew from the shelter, and often gather outdoors to barbecue, share meals, and watch their kids play on the community playground. All of Jenny’s children participate in Pacific Housing’s after-school program, and she looks forward to joining future adult programs herself.
“Now we can actually spend time with our family,” Jenny said. “We barbecue, bond with our family, and can actually save up to buy a house to move forward. This is just a stepping stone.”
