Bridge Meadows Tacoma
TACOMA, WASHINGTON
Goal: Bridge Meadows Tacoma will provide much-needed, deeply affordable homes through an intergenerational model that combines stable housing with wraparound supportive services. The community will offer spaces and programming that foster connection across generations.
Bridge Meadows Tacoma is a new affordable housing community located just 30 minutes south of Seattle. The site offers convenient access to amenities and outdoor recreation, while addressing a critical need for housing—particularly for seniors and families impacted by the foster care system. Bridge Meadows Tacoma is an intentionally planned housing community that fosters intergenerational connection through design and services.
The project helps address Tacoma’s housing needs and aligns with the City’s Housing Action Plan by supporting the creation of inclusive, service-enriched housing designed for families and seniors. The development will feature 60 affordable apartment homes ranging from one to four bedrooms across three buildings, with larger units designed for families and one-bedroom units targeting seniors aged 55 and older. Outdoor amenities include a central plaza, garden beds, a children’s play area, gathering lawn, and walking path circuit.
All units are reserved for households earning between 30% and 50% AMI, with access to on-site supportive services and programming that promote stability, connection, and wellbeing. As the resident services provider, Bridge Meadows will offer wraparound support and foster intergenerational relationships to encourage healthy development in high-risk children and youth. Bridge Meadows Tacoma exemplifies a holistic approach to affordable housing—integrating deeply affordable homes with community, care, and connection.

DEVELOPMENT
The project has been awarded 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) through the Washington State Housing Finance Commission and has secured a total of $12.4 million in funding from Pierce County, the City of Tacoma, Housing Trust Fund, and the state of Washington.
