HOOD RIVER, OREGON

Goal: 780 Rand Road will provide a vibrant, sustainable, multigenerational hub for residents of Hood River, all while preserving and enhancing the natural environment and community.

The new communiuty offers 130 units to households earning 30% – 60% AMI. The apartment homes will range from studios to three-bedroom townhomes. Located in Hood River, the project aims to bring much needed affordable housing to the area. Furthermore, 780 Rand Road will be a Community For All Ages, nurturing a healthy, supportive, and community-focused lifestyle where people of all ages can live, work, play, and thrive

780 Rand Road features numerous amenities, available to all residents, including a dedicated community building for site operations and resident programming, shared community space with a classroom/meeting space and covered outdoor space. Additionally, the site will feature a kids play area, park, and community gardens. The project places a strong emphasis on the natural environment and the neighboring local communities by incorporating trails, park and protecting the onsite wetlands.

DEVELOPMENT

The project was awarded $15.1 million from Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) as part of the 2023 Local Innovation Fast Track (LIFT) program. In addition to the LIFT funds, CDP and CCHC plan to apply for 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credits and tax-exempt bonds to complete the project’s financing. In December 2023, CCHC was awarded $3 million in the 2023 federal omnibus spending bill for the development. The project has also secured 39 Project Based Vouchers from the Mid-Columbia Housing Authority.
