Closing Announcement: Alberta Alive Townhomes

We’re proud to announce the closing of the Alberta Alive Townhomes—the fourth phase of the Alberta Alive initiative—bringing eight new affordable homeownership opportunities to households earning 60%–80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).

Co-developed by Community Development Partners and Self Enhancement, Inc., the Alberta Alive Townhomes bring together the Portland Housing Bureau, We All Rise, and Proud Ground to deliver these homes. The Townhomes leverage the N/NE Preference Policy waitlist to ensure an equitable homebuyer selection process. We All Rise helped develop a homeownership model that centers the experiences of displaced Black Portlanders, while Proud Ground will own the land to keep the homes affordable in perpetuity. This milestone marks CDP’s first homeownership project, designed with community, livability, and long-term equity at its core.

The Townhomes were designed by Scott Edwards Architecture and are being built by Owen Gabbert LLC. Financing was made possible through Metro Affordable Housing Bond funds and approximately $1.7 million in Portland Housing Bureau Homeownership Funds, as well as a LIFT Homeownership Loan, a LIFT Supplemental Grant, and a Capacity Building Grant, all provided by Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS). Summit Bank is serving as the construction lender.

This project sets a model for future affordable homeownership developments, supporting community, stability, and opportunity for Portland residents.
